Prayer times by region in Bangladesh

Our pages in Bangladesh are organised in 8 regions. Open your region, then your city: each page has its own coordinates, so the times differ by a few minutes between cities, east to west and north to south.

How prayer times are calculated in Bangladesh

Times for Bangladesh use the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 18° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+6). In the capital Dhaka, Fajr is around 3:44 AM and Maghrib 6:48 PM around 21 June, while around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:15 AM and Maghrib at 5:16 PM. Daylight there ranges from 10 h 41 min to 13 h 36 min.

Our cities in Bangladesh stretch from Shibganj in the west to Teknāf in the east, and from Panchagarh in the north to Teknāf in the south. Because of this spread, the sun reaches its zenith in Teknāf about 17 minutes before Shibganj, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also varies between north and south, most of all in summer and winter, so the timetable of Dhaka cannot replace that of your own city.
