How prayer times are calculated in France
Times for France use the Union of Islamic Organisations of France (UOIF) method: Fajr when the sun is 12° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 12° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer). In the capital Paris, Fajr is about 4:13 AM and Maghrib 9:58 PM around 21 June, whereas around 21 December Fajr comes at 7:23 AM and Maghrib at 4:56 PM. Daylight there ranges from 8 h 15 min to 16 h 11 min.
Our cities in France stretch from Brest in the west to Bastia in the east, and from Dunkirk in the north to Ajaccio in the south. Because of this spread, the sun reaches its zenith in Bastia about 56 minutes before Brest, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also varies between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Paris cannot replace that of your own city.
