Privacy policy

Manarat Al-Islam respects the privacy of its visitors and collects as little data as possible. This page explains what information the site uses, why, and the choices you have. Last update: 2026-10-25.

No account

The site does not ask you to create an account and does not collect your name, phone number or email address. Every feature, from the prayer times to the monthly timetable and the search, works without any personal information.

Location

When you press “Show prayer times for my location”, your browser asks for permission to share your position. If you accept, the coordinates are used in your browser to calculate the times and find the nearest city page, and are sent to the AlAdhan service to calculate the times. We do not store them on our servers. You can refuse or withdraw this permission at any time in your browser settings.

Local storage

We use your browser’s local storage to remember your preferences (calculation method, Asr school, time format) and to keep a temporary copy of the day’s times, which speeds up the pages. This data stays on your device and can be deleted by clearing the site data in your browser.

Audience measurement (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure the audience of the site: number of visits, pages viewed, approximate country and type of device. Google Analytics uses cookies and may process your IP address on behalf of Google, under Google’s privacy policy. These statistics help us understand which pages are useful and what to improve; we do not use them to identify you. You can block these cookies in your browser or with the official Google Analytics opt-out add-on. For visitors in the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, these cookies are only set after you accept them in the cookie banner; refusing does not limit the site in any way.

External services

To work, the site connects to the AlAdhan service (prayer time calculation: the coordinates of the page and the selected method are sent) and to Google (audience measurement). Like any web server, these services may log your IP address and browser type under their own privacy policies.

Server logs

Our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time of request) for security and performance purposes. We do not sell or share them for marketing.

Children

The site is intended for the general public and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
