Prayer times by region in Spain

Our pages in Spain are organised in 19 regions. Choose your region, then your city: each page has its own coordinates, which is why the times change by a few minutes from one place to the next, east to west and from north to south.

How prayer times are calculated in Spain

Times for Spain use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in the local time of each city (UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer; UTC, UTC+1 in summer). In the capital Madrid, Fajr is about 4:40 AM and Maghrib 9:48 PM around 21 June, while around 21 December Fajr comes at 6:56 AM and Maghrib at 5:51 PM. Daylight there ranges from 9 h 17 min to 15 h 04 min.

Our cities in Spain stretch from Los Llanos de Aridane in the west to Maó in the east, and from Viveiro in the north to Playa del Ingles in the south. Because of this spread, the sun reaches its zenith in Maó about 89 minutes before Los Llanos de Aridane, which is one reason the country uses several time zones. Day length also differs between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Madrid cannot replace that of your own city.
