How prayer times are calculated in Italy
Pages for Italy use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer). In the capital Rome, Fajr is around 3:23 AM and Maghrib 8:49 PM around 21 June, whereas around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:53 AM and Maghrib at 4:42 PM. Daylight there ranges from 9 h 08 min to 15 h 14 min.
Our cities in Italy stretch from Aosta in the west to Lecce in the east, and from Brixen in the north to Pachino in the south. Because of this spread, the sun reaches its zenith in Lecce about 43 minutes before Aosta, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also differs between north and south, most of all in summer and winter, so the timetable of Rome cannot replace that of your own city.
