Prayer times by region in Egypt

Our pages in Egypt are organised in 27 regions. Choose your region, then your city: every page has its own coordinates, so the times differ by a few minutes from one place to the next, east to west and from north to south.

How prayer times are calculated in Egypt

Pages for Egypt use the Egyptian General Authority of Survey method: Fajr when the sun is 19.5° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17.5° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+2, UTC+3 in summer). In the capital Cairo, Fajr is around 4:08 AM and Maghrib 7:59 PM around 21 June, while around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:14 AM and Maghrib at 4:59 PM. Daylight there ranges from 10 h 13 min to 14 h 05 min.

Our cities in Egypt stretch from As Sallūm in the west to Hala'ib in the east, and from Sīdī Barānī in the north to Hala'ib in the south. With such a distance, the sun reaches its zenith in Hala'ib about 46 minutes before As Sallūm, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also differs between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Cairo is no substitute for that of your own city.
