How prayer times are calculated in Finland
Times for Finland use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+2, UTC+3 in summer). In the capital Helsinki, Fajr is about 2:23 AM and Maghrib 10:50 PM around 21 June, whereas around 21 December Fajr comes at 6:36 AM and Maghrib at 3:13 PM. Daylight there ranges from 5 h 49 min to 18 h 56 min.
Our cities in Finland stretch from Rauma in the west to Kontiolahti in the east, and from Rovaniemi in the north to Raseborg in the south. Because of this spread, the sun reaches its zenith in Kontiolahti about 33 minutes before Rauma, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also varies between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Helsinki cannot replace that of your own city.
