Prayer times by region in Ghana
Our pages in Ghana are organised in 16 regions. Open your region, then your city: every page has its own coordinates, so the times differ by a few minutes from one place to the next, from east to west and from north to south.
How prayer times are calculated in Ghana
Times for Ghana use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC). In the capital Accra, Fajr is about 4:33 AM and Maghrib 6:16 PM around 21 June, while around 21 December Fajr comes at 4:50 AM and Maghrib at 5:53 PM. Daylight there ranges from 11 h 48 min to 12 h 27 min.
Our cities in Ghana stretch from Dormaa-Ahenkro in the west to Dzodze in the east, and from Bawku in the north to Esim in the south. With such a distance, the sun reaches its zenith in Dzodze about 15 minutes before Dormaa-Ahenkro, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also differs between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Accra is no substitute for that of your own city.
