Prayer times by region in Iraq

Our pages in Iraq are organised in 19 regions. Choose your region, then your city: every page has its own coordinates, so the times differ by a few minutes from one place to the next, east to west and from north to south.

How prayer times are calculated in Iraq

Pages for Iraq use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+3). In the capital Baghdad, Fajr is about 3:10 AM and Maghrib 7:15 PM around 21 June, while around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:33 AM and Maghrib at 4:59 PM. Daylight there ranges from 9 h 57 min to 14 h 22 min.

Our cities in Iraq stretch from Ar Ruţbah in the west to Al Fāw in the east, and from Beguva in the north to Al Fāw in the south. With such a distance, the sun reaches its zenith in Al Fāw about 33 minutes before Ar Ruţbah, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also varies between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Baghdad is no substitute for that of your own city.
