Prayer times by region in Laos

Our pages in Laos are organised in 17 regions. Open your region, then your city: each page has its own coordinates, so the times differ by a few minutes between cities, east to west and from north to south.

How prayer times are calculated in Laos

Times for Laos use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+7). In the capital Vientiane, Fajr is about 4:13 AM and Maghrib 6:48 PM around 21 June, whereas around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:18 AM and Maghrib at 5:39 PM. Daylight there ranges from 11 h 03 min to 13 h 12 min.

Our cities in Laos stretch from Ban Khoan in the west to Attapu in the east, and from Phongsali in the north to Muang Không in the south. Because of this spread, the sun reaches its zenith in Attapu about 27 minutes before Ban Khoan, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also differs between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Vientiane is no substitute for that of your own city.
