Prayer times by region in Mali
Our pages in Mali are organised in 11 regions. Open your region, then your city: every page has its own coordinates, so the times differ by a few minutes between cities, east to west and north to south.
How prayer times are calculated in Mali
Times for Mali use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC). In the capital Bamako, Fajr is around 4:49 AM and Maghrib 7:00 PM around 21 June, whereas around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:32 AM and Maghrib at 6:11 PM. Daylight there ranges from 11 h 23 min to 12 h 52 min.
Our cities in Mali stretch from Kayes in the west to Andéranboukan in the east, and from Taoudenni in the north to Massiogo in the south. With such a distance, the sun reaches its zenith in Andéranboukan about 58 minutes before Kayes, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also differs between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Bamako cannot replace that of your own city.
