How prayer times are calculated in Montenegro
Times for Montenegro use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer). In the capital Podgorica, Fajr is around 2:51 AM and Maghrib 8:24 PM around 21 June, whereas around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:27 AM and Maghrib at 4:13 PM. Daylight there ranges from 9 h 04 min to 15 h 18 min.
Our cities in Montenegro stretch from Herceg Novi in the west to Rozaje in the east, and from Pljevlja in the north to Ulcinj in the south. With such a distance, the sun reaches its zenith in Rozaje about 7 minutes before Herceg Novi, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also varies between north and south, most of all in summer and winter, so the timetable of Podgorica is no substitute for that of your own city.
