Prayer times by region in Nepal
Our pages in Nepal are organised in 7 regions. Open your region, then your city: each page has its own coordinates, which is why the times change by a few minutes from one place to the next, from east to west and from north to south.
How prayer times are calculated in Nepal
Times for Nepal use the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 18° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+5:45). In the capital Kathmandu, Fajr is around 3:36 AM and Maghrib 7:02 PM around 21 June, whereas around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:26 AM and Maghrib at 5:13 PM. Daylight there ranges from 10 h 23 min to 13 h 54 min.
Our cities in Nepal stretch from Mahendranagar in the west to Bhadrapur in the east, and from Dārchulā in the north to Biratnagar in the south. Because of this spread, the sun reaches its zenith in Bhadrapur about 32 minutes before Mahendranagar, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also differs between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Kathmandu cannot replace that of your own city.
