Prayer times by region in the Netherlands
Our pages in the Netherlands are organised in 12 regions. Choose your region, then your city: every page has its own coordinates, so the times differ by a few minutes from one place to the next, east to west and north to south.
How prayer times are calculated in the Netherlands
Times for Netherlands use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer). In the capital Amsterdam, Fajr is around 3:09 AM and Maghrib 10:06 PM around 21 June, whereas around 21 December Fajr comes at 6:41 AM and Maghrib at 4:29 PM. Daylight there ranges from 7 h 41 min to 16 h 48 min.
Our cities in the Netherlands stretch from Flushing in the west to Winschoten in the east, and from Delfzijl in the north to Maastricht in the south. With such a distance, the sun reaches its zenith in Winschoten about 14 minutes before Flushing, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also differs between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Amsterdam cannot replace that of your own city.
