How prayer times are calculated in Paraguay
Times for Paraguay use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC−3). In the capital Asunción, Fajr is around 4:27 AM and Maghrib 7:40 PM around 21 December, while around 21 June Fajr comes at 6:14 AM and Maghrib at 6:09 PM. Daylight there ranges from 10 h 34 min to 13 h 43 min.
Our cities in Paraguay stretch from Filadelfia in the west to Salto del Guaira in the east, and from Fuerte Olimpo in the north to Encarnación in the south. With such a distance, the sun reaches its zenith in Salto del Guaira about 23 minutes before Filadelfia, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also varies between north and south, most of all in summer and winter, so the timetable of Asunción cannot replace that of your own city.
