How prayer times are calculated in Puerto Rico
Times for Puerto Rico use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC−4). In the capital San Juan, Fajr is about 4:26 AM and Maghrib 7:03 PM around 21 June, while around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:34 AM and Maghrib at 5:53 PM. Daylight there ranges from 11 h 01 min to 13 h 14 min.
Our cities in Puerto Rico stretch from Rincon in the west to Culebra in the east, and from Isabela in the north to Arroyo in the south. With such a distance, the sun reaches its zenith in Culebra about 8 minutes before Rincon, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also differs between north and south, most of all in summer and winter, so the timetable of San Juan cannot replace that of your own city.
