Prayer times by region in Rwanda

Our pages in Rwanda are organised in 5 regions. Open your region, then your city: every page has its own coordinates, which is why the times change by a few minutes from one place to the next, from east to west and north to south.

How prayer times are calculated in Rwanda

Times for Rwanda use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+2). In the capital Kigali, Fajr is around 4:35 AM and Maghrib 6:05 PM around 21 December, whereas around 21 June Fajr comes at 4:46 AM and Maghrib at 6:02 PM. Daylight there ranges from 12 h 01 min to 12 h 14 min.

Our cities in Rwanda stretch from Cyangugu in the west to Kibungo in the east, and from Bugaragara in the north to Bugarama in the south. With such a distance, the sun reaches its zenith in Kibungo about 7 minutes before Cyangugu, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also varies between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Kigali is no substitute for that of your own city.
