How prayer times are calculated in the Seychelles

Times for Seychelles use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+4). In the capital Victoria, Fajr is around 4:48 AM and Maghrib 6:28 PM around 21 December, whereas around 21 June Fajr comes at 5:09 AM and Maghrib at 6:16 PM. Daylight there ranges from 11 h 51 min to 12 h 24 min.

Our cities in the Seychelles stretch from Bel Ombre in the west to La Passe in the east, and from La Passe in the north to Takamaka in the south. With such a distance, the sun reaches its zenith in La Passe about 2 minutes before Bel Ombre, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also varies between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Victoria cannot replace that of your own city.
