How prayer times are calculated in Sierra Leone

Times for Sierra Leone use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC). In the capital Freetown, Fajr is about 5:19 AM and Maghrib 7:13 PM around 21 June, whereas around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:47 AM and Maghrib at 6:40 PM. Daylight there ranges from 11 h 38 min to 12 h 37 min.

Because of this spread, the sun reaches its zenith in Segbwema about 9 minutes before Freetown, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also differs between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Freetown is no substitute for that of your own city.
