Prayer times by region in Sudan

Our pages in Sudan are organised in 18 regions. Choose your region, then your city: each page has its own coordinates, which is why the times change by a few minutes from one place to the next, east to west and from north to south.

How prayer times are calculated in Sudan

Pages for Sudan use the Egyptian General Authority of Survey method: Fajr when the sun is 19.5° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17.5° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+2). In the capital Khartoum, Fajr is around 3:52 AM and Maghrib 6:23 PM around 21 June, whereas around 21 December Fajr comes at 4:48 AM and Maghrib at 5:24 PM. Daylight there ranges from 11 h 12 min to 13 h 03 min.

Our cities in Sudan stretch from Geneina in the west to Tokār in the east, and from Wadi Halfa in the north to Abyei in the south. Because of this spread, the sun reaches its zenith in Tokār about 61 minutes before Geneina, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also varies between north and south, most of all in summer and winter, so the timetable of Khartoum is no substitute for that of your own city.
