Our pages in Taiwan are organised in 4 regions. Choose your region, then your city: every page has its own coordinates, so the times differ by a few minutes between cities, east to west and from north to south.
How prayer times are calculated in Taiwan
Times for Taiwan use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+8). In the capital Taipei, Fajr is around 3:35 AM and Maghrib 6:47 PM around 21 June, while around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:13 AM and Maghrib at 5:09 PM. Daylight there ranges from 10 h 35 min to 13 h 42 min.
Our cities in Taiwan stretch from Jincheng in the west to Yilan in the east, and from Sanzhi District in the north to Hengchun in the south. With such a distance, the sun reaches its zenith in Yilan about 14 minutes before Jincheng, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also differs between north and south, most of all in summer and winter, so the timetable of Taipei is no substitute for that of your own city.
