Prayer times by region in Uganda
Our pages in Uganda are organised in 4 regions. Open your region, then your city: every page has its own coordinates, so the times differ by a few minutes from one place to the next, east to west and from north to south.
How prayer times are calculated in Uganda
Times for Uganda use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in local time (UTC+3). In the capital Kampala, Fajr is about 5:32 AM and Maghrib 6:56 PM around 21 June, while around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:29 AM and Maghrib at 6:51 PM. Daylight there ranges from 12 h 06 min to 12 h 08 min.
Our cities in Uganda stretch from Ntungamo in the west to Amudat in the east, and from Moyo in the north to Kisoro in the south. Because of this spread, the sun reaches its zenith in Amudat about 21 minutes before Ntungamo, even though the clock is the same everywhere. Day length also differs between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Kampala cannot replace that of your own city.
