How prayer times are calculated in Vietnam

Pages for Vietnam use the Muslim World League method: Fajr when the sun is 18° below the horizon and Isha when the sun is 17° below the horizon. Times are shown in the local time of each city (UTC+7). In the capital Hanoi, Fajr is around 3:51 AM and Maghrib 6:41 PM around 21 June, whereas around 21 December Fajr comes at 5:09 AM and Maghrib at 5:20 PM. Daylight there ranges from 10 h 51 min to 13 h 25 min.

Our cities in Vietnam stretch from Dien Bien Phu in the west to Tuy Hoa in the east, and from Thị Trấn Trùng Khánh in the north to Năm Căn in the south. With such a distance, the sun reaches its zenith in Tuy Hoa about 25 minutes before Dien Bien Phu, which is one reason the country uses several time zones. Day length also varies between north and south, especially in summer and winter, so the timetable of Hanoi is no substitute for that of your own city.

During Ramadan 1448 AH (expected around 8 February 2027), the fast in Hanoi lasts roughly 12 h 35 min at the start of the month and 13 h 06 min at the end, with imsak at 5:05 AM and iftar at 5:51 PM on the first day.
